I have wings

I have wings
Instead of dying in a hospital, fed
with cables in my arm, a chamber-pot under the bed
I prefer dying on the barricades
of any cause supposed to be right
or even being murdered by firing squad
no blindfold, shoot at my chest
like a real hero, like a good soldier ought
but even better would be
vanishing, arms raised in a V
toward the August sky
burnt by a ray of sunshine
the smell of the ocean on me
and all around an unaware
cheerful chirping of cicadas.

The Spring ballad of Emily Rose

The Spring ballad of Emily Rose
The day that Spring arrived
I was playing with my doll
as soon as I realized it
I ran out of the door
My kitten came with me
in the yard to lay on the ground
for a bit he bothered a bee
then followed the chicks around
I heard a birdie song
but couldn't find where he was
I looked for him nearby
between a white lily and a rose
Mother Goose was enjoying the sun
among the wet blades of grass
a silver frog was having some fun
in a pond under the sassafras
And chatting with my doll
in the fresh air I dived
the butterflies were flying high
the day that Spring arrived.

-- Kind Readers, would you please help Emily Rose to find her kitten, the singing bird, Mother Goose and the silver frog hidden in the yard? --

The last waltz

The last waltz
Girl dressed with summer-green
you are, yes, you are
the secret of creation unveiling itself
when the flounced skirt raises
while you cheerfully dance
since the sunny morn
before my night ends
please, girl, save
your last waltz for me.

Thoughts and the Sea

Thoughts and the Sea
Tonight the sugar crystals violets
of your eyes cry
so sweetly for me and you
for me, who sip from your mouth
but am still thirsty
for you, who think of those roses
in the pot on the kitchen table
that softly
oh so softly
silently
die.

Desire is everywhere - Just a silhouette
And I wonder where are you now
who have seeped through my bones
like a day of intense cold
I stole a glance at you, seen only
from the side, steamy and haughty
royally carrying around your trolley,
at the mall stuck in the queue
me, to buy some bread, heading for
interstellar spaces, certainly, you.

Any place.

Any place.
It wears me out,
this sirocco wind
that roars raging on the streets
in this dead day that flakes
or maybe it’s just the memory
of the crooked touch of your lips,
as sharp as blades,
that after so long
still doesn’t wane,
and flares the desire
to see you once again,
getting back to caress
your round breast
marked by those Assyrian necklaces
keepsake of a restful journey
around the world,
probably ages ago;
it dazes my head
this flaming wind
that burns and doesn’t cauterize,
on my blazing tongue I feel
vanishing the salty taste
of your back beads of sweat
and even if the urge to seek you flies at me
it immediately atrophies,
backwashes and breaks on the cliffs
of a stupid decency,
and all I have left
is playing to take bites
out of dead poets,
they know nothing
poor innocents, of my faults,
of your rights
they can’t even think
you don’t even think
that I’m here
foolishly
poetrying
at the mercy of this
rabid
stupid
sirocco blowing.

A letter to you.

30 days ago - 2,664 views
A letter to you.
Nevertheless your beloved hands
will get this one outright
neither written nor sent
but only conceived
in a senseless night
and your golden hands
surely will open the envelope
impatiently hurrying
to read in it nothing
you'll leave your lips
a sharp paper cutter
in love with one other
beside this mine
in the broken hearts drawer
happy to be happy with a man
who doesn't write nor envelope
not even sent letters like this one.

(My last translation-tribute to my friend R and his beautiful poems)
